What began as a university friendship between two aspiring engineers quickly grew into a lasting professional partnership. Meeting each other during their studies, they became close friends and chose to intertwine their career paths early on, starting with a placement year at the same company. After gaining valuable industry experience, each pursued an independent journey as private contractors, founding their own companies and refining their individual expertise. Drawn once again by shared values, vision, and trust, they reunited to form INAT Civil Engineering—combining their strengths to deliver thoughtful, reliable, and forward-thinking engineering solutions.

The choice for our name INAT comes from the Serbian and Turkish word (инaт/Inat). Inat is a complex concept that reflects a certain cultural mentality, particularly in the Balkans, where it is often seen as a unique and defining characteristic. It is a word that embodies both a sense of pride and a willingness to challenge authority or conventional views. In addition to being a defining mentality in Serbia, the term also exists in Turkish and means a form of stubbornness, persistence, and perseverance. The word perfectly describes us as individuals, as we have often had to prove the opposite and convince people of our knowledge, skills, and professionalism because of our background. Finally, it is a compelling nod to the connection with our shared roots.
